The Breast Cancer Risk Management (BRiM) Summit 2026

The Breast Cancer Risk Management (BRiM) Summit brings together leading experts to explore all aspects of managing breast cancer risk for people without symptoms. This includes risk prediction models, risk-reducing strategies, risk communication, health promotion, and personalised approaches to screening, to optimise prevention and early detection of breast cancer.

Formerly the Why Study Mammographic Density? Conference, this 9th biennial event has rebranded to reflect the breadth and depth of breast cancer risk and its management. With significant advances in epidemiology, genomics and technology, including AI, a wider consideration of how to optimally identify and target individuals at higher risk of breast cancer is required. In honour of the late WhyStudyMD? Conference co-founder, Professor John Hopper AM, the focus of the inaugural BRiM Summit will be “Beyond Breast Density”.

Venue

The BRiM Summit will be held at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth, Australia and held over three days, Tuesday 15 September to Thursday 17 September 2026. UWA is one of Australia’s Group of Eight – a coalition of Australia’s leading research-intensive universities.
